Deeper Dive on Storytime’s Return

Recently, a poll was taken, and the results were announced. Storytime was a series of posts about my life. These posts would soft-launch my first memoir. They would allow my readers to understand me better, helping close the gap between the two parties. I’ve had to write and rewrite memoir chapters several times, depending on the advice I received. I also considered suggestions from early readers of the work.

I set a strict timeline for myself. Then, my mother got sick and passed away. I needed to focus on my well-being. Her death deeply affected me. I struggle with dysregulation due to my health condition, CPTSD. I had to confront the challenges her passing brought up. I will never be ultimately ‘cured’ of CPTSD. I can manage it, though. This is a daily effort for me.

I tried a new platform, TikTok. I began advocating for the things that matter to me. These are topics I will be discussing in the memoir(s). I wanted to connect with other survivors. Like the Storytime posts here, I also wanted to do mini doses of my life. I still wanted to reach anyone and help them. Connecting has helped me immensely and, in some ways, helped me heal. Being alone can cloud oneself when you go through things as I have.

There is interest in Storytime. The poll takers have helped me with direction. They told me they want it back here on the website as well. Other freelancers, like me, often struggle to know which way to go. We need to decide what to do or figure out the right step. That is also why it’s so crucial for crowd participation and helpful things.

If there is something you want me to discuss, please be active! I won’t know if you don’t tell me. This post is the first of several prepared posts released in the coming days/weeks. I will cover my condition. I will also discuss my parents. Other memories will be shared as I progress with this project on the website.
