In the last year, I’ve been removing accounts on social media platforms where I’m not active. Before I decided not to return to Facebook, I had already started removing things. I was shifting locations, links, and information around. I tried to simplify everything for my readers and supporters. I still wanted to land somewhere new. TikTok was going to be banned. I was beginning to enjoy things there. I didn’t know the app would return. I deleted much of my content. I moved it over to my Youtube channel as shorts.
I went toward Discord because I wanted to help and found a nice niche for myself. I explored the servers, spoke with users there, and researched. I then decided to dedicate a server for my indie community members. If you’ve followed me over the years, you know I’m not afraid to try something new. I’ve tried many new things, from podcasts to panelist slots. I’ve been hoping something would stick [per much of my indie career].
This time, I want to give back to my community. I wanted to introduce a new venue for events and community. It would be a place for readers to find new writers and, in return, writers to find new readers. My goal for The Indie Stage is to expand our reach as indie writers into new landscapes. I aim to spread awareness of our work. I am working with wonderful talents to get this server set up on Discord. I will continue giving updates. Eventually, I’ll open it up for early bookings. I want to invite fans, supporters, writers, and artists. Editors and anyone who would like to enjoy a new location for the community are welcome too.
So far, there is a location for events that will be streamed. Discord is flexible and incredibly powerful. There are also voice chat locations. There are locations for discussions as well. Of course, you can bring some fun apps and games that Discord provides to the server. Events held at the ‘stage area’ can be video or audio streamed. This depends on the writer’s comfort level. To guarantee that no matter what your comfort level is, you have a place to promote your work, hold events, or hold online book readers
Until then, I will wait until I’m ready and confident enough to open. I will refer writers to Go Indie Now, Joe Compton’s network. You can view past episodes on the YouTube channel [including my own appearances]. Go Indie Now is now booking as of the posting of this, these slots go quickly.

Hello. I like the sound of this. When you get things going, I’d be interested in being featured on there. Anything to help get readers to my books since I am terrible at marketing and promoting. I’ve been looking to create my fanbase for far longer than I want to admit lol.
