[Brief Words] 2015 Throwback: When Lindy Spencer Took Over

Once again, my ninja skills have served me well. Another unmanned blog to take over! Muahahaha!

Hi, my name is Lindy Spencer, and I’m an author. I write everything karmic, psychologically thrilling, and – breaking news – I even write children’s books! Who knew, right? I know! Spinne the Spider is a story I came up with recently, and I’m excited for it to come out for the kids in my life to read. Heck, the kids in your life might even enjoy an adventure with Spinne the six-legged spider.

Anyway, that’s not what I want to talk about. I’m here because the door was unlocked, and, well, I do takeovers when bloggers aren’t looking, and today I’m focused on where we are with where we thought we’d be when we were asked that question in high school.

Me, personally, well, I’m so far removed from where I thought I’d planned well enough to be… I can’t even see the white picket fence from here. That’s okay, though. The white picket fence wasn’t my destiny. I can totally work with that! I planned to be married (that happened, didn’t work) with children (check, check) and live in a cute little cottage home (yeah, no) with a white picket fence (splinters are my enemies) and a yappy little dog (the neighbor has several, glad I dodged that particular bullet!). Instead, I am now re-married (to Amazing Husband, who is awesome), have the two children (lights of my life) who have given me a horde of grands (which I lovingly refer to collectively as ‘Skittles’), a home that is my refuge, and Super Smart Dog (who is bigger than a yappy puppy).

Way back when they asked where we thought we’d be in ten years I am not sure I would have made it to where I am now had I known then what was coming. Life is funny that way, isn’t it? It’s like someone in the Planning Department has a twisted sense of humor. Probably why I have one as well!

Anyway, that’s what’s on my mind. If you want to drop me a line and let me know how life has turned out for you compared to how you thought it would turn out, I’m pretty easy to find. Either through my website, www.LindySpencer.com, or over on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/LindySpencer.Author. Oh, and I’m easily stalk-able on Twitter, though not as prevalent there… http://twitter.com/_Lindy_Spencer.

Thanks for hanging out with me for a minute! I just heard a car door slam, which means they’re probably back… I’m going to use my ninja skills to sneak out the back door – don’t mention my name, okay? Later, Lovelies! *waves*

Darkness Dwells Interview Live & 5 Star Review

It was announced last week that I got to sit down with Darkness Dwells Podcast for an interview. It has gone live now and you can find it here: Episode 40 – The Darkness Dwells Podcast. I do have to apologize for the way I sound in it, was getting over a cold and I even cough at one point, but colds can’t get me down from doing what I love.

We talked Anne Rice, books, The Blasphemer Series: Maxwell Demon and the short that I’m going to have coming out very soon called Human Ouija. On the topic of Maxwell Demon, I got the beautiful gift of a 5 star review on it last night! I’m so happy to see fans are loving what I’m doing. It means alot when I’m told characters are well developed and books are done well. In the podcast with Darkness Dwells it’s mentioned that this series is a ‘life’s work’ and on a level it really is since I began developing ideas and charactars as a kid that have come to live in the series. Would be bad if I have spent all this time and things turned out crappy huh?

Darkness Dwells Podcast

Last night, I had the pleasure of getting to sit down with Jason White of Darkness Dwells Podcast and talk about many things. We talked The Blasphemer Series, my upcoming release of the short Human Ouija, the indie business’ professionalism, and much more. I have to say Mr. White was very professional and this is the type of podcast level of professionalism that anyone would desire and because of this I decided to talk about the podcast, what it’s about, and help those out there in the horror genre that’s may have been looking for a place to promote. It’s important as indies that we help eachother and ya’ll know I’m all about helping my fellow indies out.

Darkness Dwells is a blog and weekly podcast hosted by horror authors Jason White and Michael Schutz-Ryan. They have a wide variety of topics they cover within the world of horror, from authors to covering horor genre movies, this is definately a one-stop-horror-shop type of podcasts giving its listeners more than enough entertainment to sink their fangs into. I’m going to definitely start tuning in, I am a huge fan of podcasts.

You can find them around the web on the usual social media hot spots, Twitter, Facebook, and of course they even have a website that contains more information about them.

My own podcast interview with these guys should be going live within the week, so keep your eyes locked on my social media hot spots for when this goes live.

PREDATOR’S TRINITY

By Rosanna Leo

Blurb:

Librarian Suzan Marsh is an empath and has always felt assaulted by the feelings of others. She has had to distance herself from the people in her life, raising a mental barrier to ward off unwanted emotions. When wolf shifter August Crane abducts her, he breaks through the walls she constructed, forcing her to accept a frightening new truth.

Jaguar shifter twins Percy and Byron Moon are familiar with the evil ways of August Crane. Because of him, their childhood was destroyed. Because of him, their way of life at the peaceful Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort is threatened. And they won’t rest until he is dead.

When Crane drags Suzan into his cult and decides to make her his “concubine,” Percy and Byron know they must save the human woman. Their connection to her is strong and they cannot deny the dream they always held close. That they could share a woman and make her their mate.

But even after rescuing Suzan, none of them are free from Crane’s clutches. The wolf shifter has plans, ones that involve the demise of every shape shifter at the Ursa Resort. Not only must Percy and Byron keep Suzan safe, they must convince her to accept them both. In order to stop Crane from hurting everyone they love, they must learn to fight together.

Excerpt:

After her shower, she toweled off and dressed in the clothes provided, choosing a pretty green V-neck T-shirt to accompany the jeans. Everything fit perfectly, from underwear to outerwear, as if the Moons had already known her. It boggled her mind, but she couldn’t lose the sensation they were connected by more than just circumstance. Her instincts never lied. After slipping into a pair of soft white socks, she made her way toward the kitchen.

She heard Byron and Percy before she saw them and stopped to catch an excited breath. When she heard what they said, she paused a moment longer.

“How’s your jaguar holding up?” Byron asked his brother.

She knew it was Byron. Despite them being identical twins, there were slight differences in their voices. Byron’s was the smoother voice. Percy’s had the odd touch of sexy gravel.

“My dumb cat,” replied Percy on a near growl, “was up all night long. He keeps pawing at me, trying to get to her.”

Her? As the burn of jealousy sizzled in Suzan’s gut, she gnawed on her bottom lip in a futile attempt to quell it. Maybe Percy had a girlfriend and he was dying to see her. Maybe he couldn’t wait to escape the cabin so he could meet up with this woman and, well, let his jaguar loose.

“Yeah,” Byron said. “My cat’s in agony, too. I think my ribs are black and blue inside, it pounds them so much.”

Oh, great. She wasn’t sure why this information astounded her. Of course men like them would have girlfriends. Hell, they might have mates. She hadn’t bothered to ask, had she? She’d already heard the mate bond was a powerful thing, that it would drive any shifter to distraction, both sexually and emotionally. Why had she been naïve enough to think these men might be single? She knew enough to know the good ones were always taken.

She’d been so stupid to think they had a bond. Bullshit. Clearly, her empathic tendencies had let her down for the first time.

“I can’t believe how quickly my jag … recognized Suzi,” said Percy.

Oh. Last she heard, she was the only Suzi around here.

Byron grunted. “I feel the same way. I’ve never felt like this. My head’s not working properly. Fuck, I couldn’t even hold a bowl of eggs without losing it. Percy, we need to discuss things. Seriously.”

“I know.”

“If Suzi is the one we’re meant to share, we can’t afford to make any wrong moves, especially with Crane in the picture. We need to support her and not let our egos get in the way.”

“Agreed.”

If Suzi is the one we’re meant to share…

Holy hell.

Review: Murder, Mayhem, Monsters, and Mistletoe: an anthology

I had never read an anthology before this one. I came into this book wanting to get a feel for different genres; I tend to enjoy a wide-range. I enjoyed the stories and each author stepped to the table giving beautiful works to this project. I could tell each writer loved doing just that writing. I’m lucky to know many of these writers and already knew their personalities with that said I’ve read many books where the authors are almost reflections of themselves in one character or more, but I could see with these specific grouping that they really knew the head of the character or characters they were writing about, well researched and non-associative of the author themselves.

I had stepped myself back from this project, being the cover creator, and was able to come to it as a reader and enjoy it as just that. I fell in love with special stories and have become an advocate for the authors. There hasn’t been a moment that’s passed by that I have not loaned this book out to a friend raving about it and the authors themselves. Seven authors and seven stories for free, I still cannot believe this beautiful project was free!

I look forward to see what’s to come from these authors. I was pleased greatly by the wide-range of stories; I’ve recommended this book many times to friends that are looking for something different or not sure what genre they may like. The only thing I can compare this collection to is a chocolate sampler. You will find a little something you love among the different stories, you may find yourself a new beloved author, and you will want more. I know I did!

Paperback Released!

null

Many over the months has asked me about this. I wanted to wait for a special and personal item before releasing so that it could be added. Some had been told about this secret. It’s something that is not in the ebook edition and I loved so much wanted it to be placed within the paperbacks to set them apart.

What is it?!

My husband, my ever there support beyond fans and my close friends has seen me toiling away on this ‘little story’ and helping me through the tears and fears of if anyone would even like this story was inspired to write a very special poem inspired by the work itself.

It holds a special page within the pages.
